About the author

My name is Terka, though some people call me Téra or Buchy. I'm originally from Liberec, so my northern spirit is impossible to hide. I've been living in Prague for the past eight years, where I studied Physical Education and Health Education at Charles University. During my studies, I also took part in two international exchanges – one in Norway and the other in Italy. It was there that the first pages of Výjezdový držák began to take shape. You can read more about it here.

My international exchanges were a major turning point in my life. Not only in terms of language, but above all in terms of personal growth. I still draw inspiration from both of these experiences today. I'm still in touch with my Erasmus friends, and thanks to my experiences, Scandinavia has become a place my parents love returning to regularly, too. And whenever I don't quite feel like myself, I often find comfort in looking back on those memories. Situations that once seemed impossible to handle still play through my mind – and it's thanks to them that I've become a little braver, freer, and more humble.

These days, I share my love of movement with high school students at Masaryk Secondary School of Chemistry, while also working on Výjezdový držák. In my free time, I love being active, preferably outdoors. And honestly? I wish every day had at least 30 hours, so I could have more time for creating, singing, dancing, exploring the world, and, of course, staying active. Ideally, all of it alongside the people closest to me – the ones I'd do absolutely anything for.

Why would I want you to take Journey Holder with you?

When I was abroad, I kept a journal myself, which helped me not only preserve my memories but also reflect on different situations and sort out my thoughts.

I often heard from friends that they regretted not sticking with journaling for longer. That's exactly why Výjezdový držák was created – a journal that doesn't require you to write long texts but gently encourages you to capture the key moments and thoughts you might want to remember one day.

As your journey unfolds, so does your journal. You can always come back to it whenever you feel like it. It was created not only from my own experiences but also from those of other people who have studied or worked abroad and shared their feedback with me throughout its development.
