Journey Holder?

Already during my university studies, I dreamed of going abroad for an extended period and learning English. I made that dream come true by heading to Notodden, Norway, where I spent six months immersed in nature, studying physical education and outdoor learning. It was a rollercoaster of experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

And as I write in my Výjezdový držák: "Soon, I start feeling the urge to leave and explore the world again…" After returning home, I didn't stay in the Czech Republic for long. Before even submitting my master's thesis, I headed to Bologna, Italy, for an internship. I worked for
a tourism organisation, where I trained volunteers in educational approaches. It was a challenge — communicating through gestures, speaking a little Italian, and, above all, adjusting to a different pace of life. When someone said noon, things could easily get started at
3 p.m. And that was something I could relate to!

Gradually, however, uncertainty and doubts began to creep in. Was
I in the right place? What had possessed me to go abroad again?
I had to find a way to deal with these feelings — or at least, I wanted to. I started looking for small anchors that would help me feel better. I signed up for regular jiu-jitsu training, cooked traditional local dishes with people from the area, drew maps, and documented the places I visited. I set myself small challenges that helped me get to know the city, its surroundings, and the local culture better.

It was these occasional steps outside my comfort zone, along with learning to accept that it's okay not to feel okay even while living abroad, that inspired me to create the Výjezdový držák. It's a personal guide to life abroad — one that offers support, inspiration, and a way to capture the moments you'll want to look back on and share with others.
